Bio
2013 Team Captain
Already a three-year letterwinner for the Gators in goal, Courtney Reed returns for her senior season with an extensive resume. She leads the program in career saves (214), while also ranking No. 2in saves per game (8.56). She stands at No. 3 in career saves percentage (.389) and No. 4 in career goals against average (16.66).
She has also played 25 games in goal on her career and ranks No. 3 in most appearances as a goalie. She holds the single-season record for most saves in a season (148, 2010) and No. 2 in saves per game (11.38, 2010), while also standing at No. 3 in the single-game category for most saves in a game (21 vs. Utica, 2012).
As a junior, she was forced to the sidelines last in the year, but not before she produced a 16.0 GAA in 240 minutes of service. She added 13 ground ball pickups with 48 saves. She holds Sages’ career saves record and now has 214 in her three seasons as a Gator.
A graduate of Mechanicville High School, she played basketball and volleyball and was a two-year team captain for the volleyball squad. She also served a basketball team captain for one season. A high honor student, she has continued to excel academically at Sage and was named to the Skyline Conference Scholar-Athlete Team.
Reed is extremely active on campus as she serves as a CAPES Peer Educator and is the group’s treasurer. She also is the E-Board Academic Chairwoman for Student Government. She is also the treasurer of the Board of Game Club at Sage and a member of SAAC.
She is majoring in childhood education and psychology at Sage and plans to attend Sage graduate school this coming fall with hopes of pursuing a career as a teacher, specializing with children with autism. She is the daughter of Toby and Mary Lu Reed, recipients of Sage’s Fans of the Year Award in 2012.
